Anti-Smoking Campaign
It is the law in Australia (and many other countries) to now have smoking awareness advertisements on the front and back of all cigarette packets. This ads show very graphic images of the effects of smoking to your health, and the health of others.
The print ads on the cigarette packets link to the TV campaign very well, as they are both very graphic and haunting in nature. The TV ad even shows the print ad at the start, as most people are more familiar with the ads on the packets. It is very effective at getting a message through about the ill effects of smoking. The TV ad is especially effective as the photographs may seem unreal, or staged; the TV ad makes it seem very personal and real.
The campaign is mainly targeted at people who already smoke, as both ads make a strong reference to the Quit Line.
I think it is a very effective campaign as most smokers start smoking because of peer pressure, and that smoking makes you look "cool", as this campaign shows that smoking can severely damage your looks, I believe this is more effective than a campaign about cigarettes killing you, as living in pain is much more disturbing for some reason.

Maybelline Volum'Express Hypercurl Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara

TV ad:

Maybelline New York - Cat Eyes Mascara
This is a magazine spread and a television commercial of Maybelline's product Volum Express Hypercurl Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara.
The print advertisement and the television commercial link together very nicely, as both use the same colours, theme and imagery. Both advertisements have the same model, and a white tiger, both with striking blue eyes, which emphasizes the mascara. Both also use a colour theme of black and pink, as this is the colour of the mascara bottle.
The print ad and the TV commercial effectively sell this product through the use of a beautiful model. The dynamic makeup on the woman in the commercial makes you think that her look is achievable with their product. The slogan 'Maybe she's born with it. Maybe its Maybelline' also makes you think that this makeup can make you look beautiful no matter what you look like.
This campaign is obviously targeted at women, as the sole users of makeup (besides drag queens.)
